Mission High School is proud to have been the space in which this Star Graduate chose to grow. Eva Loeza has been a student at Mission High School since her freshman year. Initially reluctant and unsure of the referral to Mission High School, she now recognizes that remaining with Mission was one of “the greatest opportunities” she has taken.
Eva has demonstrated a quiet tenacity and strength. Fiercely loyal and private, she spent her first year avoiding connection, allying with few students and staff. Eva claimed a true clean date in September 2022, and we watched slow, beautiful changes begin. Once she surrendered, Eva conquered events, emotions, obstacles, and temptations while being clean and sober. She has allowed herself to expand her definition of family, trusting us to provide guidance and support as she negotiated some of life’s major hurdles. In spite of challenges, she has persisted in finding herself, revealing a dedicated, hardworking student. In her sobriety, Eva has maintained a seat on the honor roll, has been the first to ask teachers for direction, and has volunteered to be a part of a work initiative. Eva has found the will to push forward and develop new avenues where before there seemed few.
Congratulations to Star Graduate Eva Loeza of Mission High School.
