Bonanza High School is proud to nominate Jay Lopez as its Star Graduate. Jay’s journey is a true testament to perseverance and growth. Despite facing challenges earlier in their academic career, Jay’s warm and welcoming personality earned them friendships throughout campus. Over the past four years, they’ve grown into a leader both in the classroom and in extracurricular activities. After receiving a second chance, Jay embraced it fully, becoming deeply involved in school life. They participated in athletics, ran for executive board positions, and formed a diverse group of friends. Even when faced with setbacks, Jay took responsibility and worked diligently to improve. Their hard work paid off, culminating in straight A’s in the first semester of their senior year. Jay’s story highlights the power of resilience and second chances. As they prepare to attend the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) to pursue a career in nursing, we are confident that Jay will continue to thrive. Bonanza High School is incredibly proud of Jay’s transformation and accomplishments.
