03 Sep School namesake Edythe Katz-Yarchever dies at age of 95

Edythe Katz-Yarchever, namesake of Edythe and Lloyd Katz Elementary School, passed away Aug. 31, 2015 at the age of 95. She was the first Women’s Philanthropy Chair for the Jewish Federation as well as the founder of the Sperling Kronberg Mack Holocaust Resource Center and the Chairwoman of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Education Relating to the Holocaust. Funeral services were held today (Sept. 3) at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery in Las Vegas.
