Nevada Moves Week and Science in Schools

Nevada Moves Week and Science in Schools

There are two great partnership opportunities coming up soon in which the Clark County School District (CCSD) could use your help – one that promotes science in our schools and the other that encourages students to get physically active.

Nevada Moves Week, held during March 16-20, is a statewide event that encourages students, parents and staff to walk or bike to school and get physically active.

This is an occasion for students, parents and community leaders to spend time together and experience their community from the perspective of pedestrians and bicyclists.

If you would like to volunteer to assist a school, please fill out this form.

Another wonderful opportunity for our community partners is the Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival, April 24 to May 2, which aims to make science fun, accessible and engaging. One portion of the festival that is coordinated by the CCSD School-Community Partnership Program is Science in Schools.

Throughout the April 27-May 1 school week, the School-Community Partnership Program wants to bring as many science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) professionals into CCSD classrooms to share their career stories and highlight the many possibilities our students have for a future in science and technology in Southern Nevada.

If you are a STEM professional who is willing to visit a classroom (or classrooms) that week, please sign up at this link by March 27.

If you have any questions about either Nevada Moves Week or Science in Schools, or if you would like to partner with CCSD in some other way, please contact the School-Community Partnership Program at 702-799-6560 or visit ccsd.net/community/partnership.
