This year, Nevada Moves Week will be observed May 3-7. Nevada Moves Week is a statewide event that highlights the benefits, opportunities, and barriers around safe walking and biking to and from school.
Physical activity, such as walking and biking, before school gets students’ brains oxygenated and ready to learn. Plus, more walking and biking to school can reduce up to 25 percent of morning rush hour traffic.
Whether a school plans a formal event or just encourages students to move, Nevada Moves Week is a fun way to get students and parents involved in physical activity.
In addition to Nevada Moves Week, the Safe Routes to School staff is celebrating Bike to School Day, on Wednesday, May 5.
