29 May Messages from Board of School Trustees President Deanna L. Wright and Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky

A Message from Board of School Trustees President Deanna L. Wright

We all have so much to be proud of! Thousands of students have earned diplomas and are leaving us to go do great things. They will take the lessons they have learned from all of you; you have inspired them. You have showed students how to dig deep to reach their goals, and you have held them accountable. You helped them heal when things were rough and applauded them when they triumphed.

I know this has been a difficult year for all, as we have struggled financially and could not provide the raises to all employees that they truly deserve. We will work to change that situation during the 2019 legislative session.

As I reflect on the year, I want to thank you for all your hard work and devotion; you have seen our students through. Our graduation rate has increased and we are seeing increased success with Advanced Placement enrollment.

Next year will also bring success. We will welcome a new Superintendent and watch even more students defy the odds.

We have so much to be thankful for, and none of this is possible without our teachers, support staff, and administrators. You amaze me all the time, and speaking for the entire Board of Trustees, we truly appreciate you.

A Message from Clark County School District Superintendent of Schools Pat Skorkowsky

I want to personally thank every CCSD employee for their dedication and commitment to student achievement! We have had amazing successes and have also endured some difficult struggles together.

It has been my honor to serve alongside all employees as we do the very important work of ensuring that students are safe, fed, cared for, inspired, and educated. We all collectively have a hand in student success.

So as you leave your schools today, attend graduations, and embark on your summer plans, I wish you nothing but success and happiness.

It is with great admiration that I leave CCSD next month after five years as superintendent and 30 years total serving students and staff. I know our employees’ hearts are in the right place. You all work incredibly hard, and great things are happening each day in our District.

I will continue to call Las Vegas home, and look forward to following the future accomplishments of students and employees as Dr. Jesus Jara leads CCSD to new heights.

Thank you!
