Federal funds constitute about 11% of the Clark County School District (CCSD)’s overall budget. They are absolutely critical, directly supporting essential services and staff across our schools. These funds fuel programs such as food service, extended learning opportunities, tutoring and academic support, and professional development for our educators. Furthermore, federal funding helps support nearly 1,800 staff positions within our district. Our district is closely monitoring this situation.

Potential Effects

For now, CCSD anticipates no major impact on our programs or staff positions.

Our Commitment

We want to assure our families and staff that our primary focus is on minimizing any disruption to the educational experience and the daily operations of our schools.

We will continue to monitor developments and will share timely and specific updates with you as soon as we have clear guidance on any impacts to our funding, programs, or staffing.

Federal Funds – Big in Impact

CCSD receives approximately $365 million total in federal funding every year. Federal funds make up about 11.6% of CCSD’s $3.2B operating budget. They are critical for many of our programs, especially those serving our most vulnerable students.

While there will be no immediate impact on staff members, CCSD jobs funded by federal dollars could be at risk if federal funds are frozen for a long period of time. 1,785 filled CCSD positions were fully or partially funded through federal grant dollars in the 2025-26 school year.
