For the fifth consecutive year, the Richard Harris Law Firm supplied thousands of backpacks full of school supplies to students in need from CCSD through its Project Backpack initiative.

  • Project Backpack started in Las Vegas as a Southern Nevada initiative, but expanded to the entire state in 2023.

The Richard Harris Law Firm, seeing that thousands of children go without essential supplies they needed to succeed in school, set out to give essential school supplies and backpacks to these students.

“I’m thankful we’re able to help so many in the community,” said Richard Harris, founder of the Richard Harris Law Firm and CCSD alum who graduated from Western High School.

“Our goal is for every student in need to receive a backpack full of school supplies,” Harris added. “We look forward to the smiles and the lasting impact this initiative will have on the kids and families of our communities.”

  • The backpacks were delivered to 60-plus Title I elementary schools throughout Southern Nevada.
  • The law firm also held an open pick-up event at their offices in Las Vegas, allowing students not attending the selected schools for 2025 to receive a backpack full of school supplies prior to the start of their school year.

The law firm donated 9,000 backpacks with supplies to CCSD students this year and an estimated 50,000 since the program began.
