LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved contracts with Felicia Gonzales and Dr. Jesse Welsh to serve as Deputy Superintendents.

“I am excited to have Ms. Gonzales and Dr. Welsh rejoin CCSD in the Deputy Superintendent roles,” CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert said. “They both bring extensive knowledge of PK-12 education and the District back to CCSD, along with proven leadership skills necessary to empower educators in our schools.“

Gonzales will serve as the Deputy Superintendent of Business Operations. Gonzales, a Las Vegas native, has served in various educational leadership roles, including as the Deputy Superintendent of the Nevada Department of Education. She previously served as an Associate Superintendent for CCSD and opened the Southwest Career and Technical Academy, as its first principal.

Welsh will serve as the Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. Welsh has served in various roles in CCSD, including as Principal of Thurman White Middle School and as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Professional Development, as well as Assessment, Accountability, Research, and School Improvement. He most recently served as Chief Executive Officer at Nevada State High School, and before that, he was a Superintendent in Arizona.
