CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara announces leadership changes to accelerate student success

After a rigorous selection process, Clark County School District (CCSD) Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara has selected two of the three region superintendent positions to oversee geographic regions of the District.

CCSD’s new region superintendents are long-time educators in the district:
  • Mrs. Debbie Brockett, current franchise principal of Las Vegas High School and Duane D. Keller Middle School
  • Mr. Grant Hanevold, current School Associate Superintendent who also has significant experience as a principal

Jara will continue the search to identify the final region superintendent who will support the goals in the district’s draft five-year strategic plan, “Focus 2024.”

Jara said he is extremely excited about both Brockett and Hanevold, who will each ensure that schools in their region implement the strategies outlined in the “Focus 2024” strategic plan.

Each region superintendent will be assisted by two school associate superintendents. These new region superintendent positions were recently created as part of a reorganization that will cut central services costs and ensure consistent support to the 360 schools throughout the district.
