“Elaine Wynn was a force of nature, a philanthropist, a gaming and entertainment pioneer, and a mentor. As a philanthropist, she rallied us around students through non-profit organizations that continue empowering thousands of students to thrive in school and life. As the chair of the Nevada Board of Education, she prompted us to take bold action to better meet the needs of our students. Before her passing, she helped us see that our community deserves a modern art museum that will be the envy of the world. Elaine was also my friend, and I am thankful for the lessons she taught me as an advocate for children, a leader, and a person,” said Superintendent Jhone Ebert.

Elaine Wynn gained recognition as a savvy businesswoman but built her legacy through a relentless dedication to supporting students, especially those in need. Her generosity of time and treasure sustained the After-School All-Stars, Communities in Schools, and the Elaine P. Wynn and Family Foundation. She established a culture of caring for the children of Clark County that will endure for generations to come.

The Clark County School District extends its sympathies to the Wynn family and is honored to have Elaine Wynn Elementary School serve as a tribute to her legacy.
