CCSD Schools Unveil State-Of-The-Art Fitness Centers

Marvin M. Sedway Middle School and Barry and June Gunderson Middle School celebrated the opening of new, state-of-the-art fitness centers with ribbon-cutting ceremonies. The National Foundation for Govenors’ Fitness Councils (NFGFC) selected both middle schools as DON’T QUIT! Champion Schools and gifted both with brand new fitness centers valued at $100,000. The schools are being recognized for demonstrating leadership in getting and keeping students fit. 

Sedway Middle School Principal La Toya Jordan Brown was joined by NFGFC Chairman Jake Steinfield to lead the ceremony. Steinfield also visited Gunderson Middle School to lead the ceremony with Principal Pamela Lindemuth. Students and staff got a 10-minute fitness demonstration on the new equipment.
