The Clark County School District Project-Based Learning (PBL) Showcase offered pilot school principals an opportunity to share their implementation of PBL on their campuses.

More than a dozen CCSD schools are currently piloting PBL as part of the pilot school project.

On Thursday, multiple schools, including Judy and John L. Goolsby Elementary School, Clifford J. Lawrence Junior High School, and Cimarron-Memorial High School, participated in presentations of learning at Southeast Career and Technical Academy to showcase the results they’ve seen after utilizing PBL in their classrooms.

Teachers and administrators shared project examples during their presentations, including students creating an interactive museum and using historical events to tell stories. Many said students have embraced PBL and appreciate that it allows them to take more ownership of their learning.

PBL captures the excitement of learning through authentic, meaningful, rigorous learning activities. It goes one step further by intentionally developing collaboration and communication skills that support students to demonstrate their learning to others.
