CCSD honors victims of 9/11

Two Clark County School District (CCSD) schools held 9/11 memorial ceremonies to honor the lives lost during the September 11, 2011 attacks.

Valley High School hosted its annual remembrance ceremony on Friday, September 8, 2023, in memory of the lives lost during the attacks. Its Viking Battalion and the Battalion Saber team will gather and salute in tribute to the victims. 

Palo Verde High School also held its annual rededication ceremony on Friday, September 8, 2023, in honor of the victims, including its foreign languages teacher Barbara Edwards. The school’s Air Force JROTC led the tribute ceremony with the choir, administrators and staff. Edwards was a passenger on American Airlines Flight 77, which crashed into the Pentagon on 9/11.
