Clark County School District (CCSD) has been recognized with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. CCSD has received this award for the past 34 years.
Additionally, CCSD has earned the GFOA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Popular Annual Financial Reporting. The award is based on an evaluation of the District’s CAFR for reader appeal, understandability, distribution methods, creativity and other elements.
“This award is a testament to the hard work of our Accounting and Finance Department, which works to ensure fiscal efficiency in order to provide rich and rigorous learning opportunities,” said CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara.
GFOA, founded in 1906, represents public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada. The association’s more than 20,000 members are federal, state/provincial and local finance officials deeply involved in planning, financing and implementing thousands of governmental operations in each of their jurisdictions.
