LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) continues to earn national recognition as Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts, and a student from Advanced Technologies Academy (A-TECH) earned top honors from Magnet Schools of America (MSA).

Del Sol Academy was awarded the Secondary Magnet School of Merit Award of Excellence. The school was recognized for its outstanding commitment to academic excellence, curriculum innovation, diversity, and community engagement in performing arts education. The award came with a $2,500 prize. The award was announced during a recent MSA conference in Nashville, Tennessee.

“This is an incredible accomplishment for Del Sol Academy, and the students and staff should be proud of their hard work,” CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert said. “Becoming a Magnet school nearly a decade ago was difficult–they had to earn their place among long-established programs. Today, their students are thriving, and this honor is a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when passion, purpose, and perseverance come together.”

“National recognition like this reflects the heart, determination, and vision that built Del Sol Academy from the ground up,” CCSD Assistant Superintendent of College and Career Readiness and School Choice Division Gia Moore said. “CCSD schools offer families exceptional education options, and our Magnet programs continue to receive well-deserved top honors by delivering for our students.”

The Magnet School of Merit Awards highlight Magnet programs that demonstrate exemplary dedication to high academic standards, innovation, and fostering diversity. Del Sol Academy embodies these principles, offering specialized performing arts programs including Band, Dance, Ballet Folklorico, Cinematic Arts, and more.

MSA recognized 41 CCSD schools during the 2024–2025 school year.

Additionally, a CCSD student who attends A-TECH, Alexis Bertuzzi, was also awarded a $1,000 scholarship by MSA at the same conference. Bertuzzi is one of 50 students selected for the award for showing leadership in their school, excelling academically, and serving their communities.
