MGM Resorts offered jobs to 20 high school seniors from the CCSD’s Culinary Program.

  • The scene: These future chefs got their official chef coats and job offers at a special event at MGM Grand Las Vegas.

What they’re saying: “This public-private partnership opens career doors at MGM Resorts,” said Amy Lee, MGM director of Workforce Development.

  • “We are ready to partner and we are ready to fill positions in our workforce,” said Gia Moore, CCSD director of Career and Technical Education. “It’s just the beginning.”

How it worked: Students earned their spots through assessments and practical cooking tests held earlier in the week at Southeast Career and Technical Academy with MGM’s top chefs.

Looking ahead: Nine younger students from CCSD’s Culinary Program were also highlighted, with encouragement to join MGM when eligible.
