CCSD Chief of Staff selected as superintendent for The School District of Lee County in Florida

Clark County School District’s (CCSD) current Chief of Staff, Dr. Christopher Bernier, has been selected as superintendent for The School District of Lee County in Florida

“As our Chief of Staff, Dr. Bernier dedicated himself to ensuring students of the Clark County School District receive a high-quality education,” said CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara. “We will miss him and his commitment to this community and the expertise he provided. I am confident that the students of Lee County will benefit tremendously from his wealth of knowledge, educational expertise, and quality leadership skills.”

Dr. Christopher Bernier has served as the Chief of Staff for CCSD since July 2019.

In his current role, Dr. Bernier not only bridges Executive Cabinet functions to keep the school district focused on students, but he directly sponsors specific high profile, high yield projects.

Prior to his time with CCSD, Bernier was an educator serving in various capacities with the Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) in Florida from 1987 to 2019. From classroom teacher to assistant principal and principal at multiple schools he ultimately worked his way up to become Associate Superintendent at OCPS.

Dr. Bernier will begin contract negotiations and determine his start date with the Lee County Public School District.

A search will begin for a new chief of staff for CCSD.
