CCSD celebrates Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

As part of Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, the Clark County School District (CCSD) recognized three members of the CCSD Police Department as exemplary employees.

In a ceremony held at CCSPD headquarters, the CCSD Engagement Unit surprised Officer Jaclyn Carlsen, Officer Artesia Henry and School Police Social Worker Tonya Jones with a staycation courtesy of SAHARA Las Vegas.

Officer Carlsen was recognized for her efforts in coordinating “Operation Holiday Hope” which led to 500 toys and 64 teddy bears being delivered to children at University Medical Center and Sunrise Hospital.

Officer Henry was honored for her work with the Law Enforcement Against Drugs (L.E.A.D.) program. Throughout the year, she leads courses to students but also leads training courses for fellow officers to expand the reach of the program.

CCSDPD leaders recognized Jones for her leadership in providing positive messaging to students on CCSD campuses through the “You Are Loved campaign.” Through the program, Jones and other CCSDPD staff members visit high school campuses to spread positive messages to students to let them know there are people everywhere who care for them.
