Aldeane Comito Ries’s dedication will always be remembered in the Clark County School District. She dedicated her professional life to our school district and built a legacy with decades of service to various of our schools.

In her 38 years of service as an educator, Aldeane Comito Ries worked in every educational level beginning in elementary school and then moving to the junior high and high school level. She began her career at J. E. Manch Elementary School and later moved to Ruth Fyfe Elementary School.

It wasn’t long before she moved up the ladder and became an administrator at Frank F. Garside Junior High School and K. O. Knudson Middle School. Her career progressed quickly and in just two years she moved up to the high school level when she became the dean of Valley High School before moving to Chaparral High School where she served until 1979.

Ries became the Admissions Counselor for SNVTC (Southern Nevada Vocational Tech Center) now known as SECTA (South East Career and Technical Academy.

Eventually, her professional journey guided her back to familiar territory when she became the assistant principal for Chaparral High School. Similar to the rest of her career things progressed quickly and just a few years later she was appointed as the Principal for one of her old stomping grounds, Valley High School.

As the City of Las Vegas expanded so did the Clark County School District and in 1994 Silverado High School opened its doors to students. As someone with years of experience, Ries was selected to open the school and she remained there until 2000.

After 38 years of service to the District, Ms. Ries retired from CCSD. When asked what education meant to her she would say, “It’s all about kids and doing things for the right reasons.”

Ms. Ries’ dedication to the students of Clark County led to her name gracing a school in the Southwest Valley that opened in August of 2005.
