The Clark County School District (CCSD) is celebrating American Education Week (AEW) from November 17-21.
This annual week-long event will celebrate the amazing CCSD professionals who play an important part in our students’ success. Each day will feature a theme that recognizes the contributions of these professionals and highlights the importance of quality public schools.

CCSD kicked off American Education Week (AEW) with a ribbon-cutting event at Eldorado High School’s new library! This remodeling project included upgrades to the library’s wiring and data service to support current and future technology programs. CCSD Trustee Brenda Zamora, Superintendent Jhone Ebert, and Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Dr. Jesse Welsh were in attendance.

Approximately 30 CCSD school namesakes gathered at South Career and Technical Academy to celebrate their continued support of our school communities. Superintendent Ebert had the opportunity to speak to our education leaders about the District’s long-term goals.

Formula 1 Community Day
400 CCSD students who are currently enrolled in STEM programs across the District had the opportunity to explore career opportunities in the F1 paddock. Students met with an F1 driver and participated in activities to learn more about career topics, including broadcasting, engineering, and racing.

Support Staff Surprise at Goldfarb Elementary School
CCSD continued the American Education Week celebration at Daniel Goldfarb Elementary School! Two support professionals, Mr. Kevyn Lara Lopez and Mrs. Patricia Casteel, were surprised with a certificate from Silver State Credit Union for their dedication to going above and beyond for our students.

The American Education Week celebrations continue with National Parental Involvement Day!
Today, our Deputy Superintendents, Dr. Jesse Welsh and Felicia Gonzalez, visited two CCSD Family Engagement Centers to learn more about how these centers help our parents increase involvement in their children’s education. They talked to parents and heard firsthand how these centers have helped them.

On the last day of American Education Week, we recognize our Substitute Educators for the vital role they play in our students’ education. Superintendent Jhone Ebert recognized substitutes from Sandra B. Abston Elementary School. Thank you for everything you do!

Abston STEAM Takes Flight
Students had the unique opportunity to participate in an assembly with world-class leaders in the aviation and aerospace fields. From NASA Astronauts to U.S. military fighter pilots, students learned about the different career opportunities available to them and were inspired to dream big!
