LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 2.02 – Clark County School District Pre-Kindergarten–Grade 12 Student Code of Conduct

The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved an updated CCSD Pre-K-Grade 12 Student Code of Conduct focused on student success and safety. The revisions increase the integration of restorative practices while emphasizing dialogue, understanding and accountability.

Agenda Item 3.01 – Superintendent Search

Trustees received a presentation featuring an overview of the current superintendent search conducted by Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA). The presentation included a detailed outline of the search process, steps for transparency during the search, plans for focus groups, an online survey for stakeholders and a tentative timeline.

Agenda Item 3.02 – iNVest 2025

The Board approved iNVest 2025. INVest 2025 was created by the Nevada Association of School Superintendents (NASS), composed of 17 School District Superintendents and the Executive Director of the State Public Charter School Authority.

As Nevadans prepare for the 2025 legislative session, NASS continues to anchor on the central question: “What is needed to improve student achievement in Nevada?” INVest 2025 focuses on:

  • Optimal education funding for the students of Nevada
  • Innovation for a learner-centered and future-ready system
  • An accountability system that measures what matters
  • Investment in school mental health for students and staff
  • Opportunities to engage NASS to develop state-wide mechanisms to create safe and secure Future Ready learning environments for all students and staff

Agenda Item 3.03 & 3.04 – CCSD Legislative Platform & 2025 Legislative Bill Drafts

The Board approved CCSD’s legislative platform for the 2025 Nevada Legislative Session, which includes:

  • Prioritizing student-centered efforts 
  • Centering student achievement
  • Equitable access to high-quality educators
  • Optimal funding streams for education and innovation

Trustees also provided staff with topic ideas to begin working on CCSD’s two bill draft requests (BDR). Staff will bring BDR proposals before the Board at a future public Board meeting for approval before they are submitted to the Legislative Counsel Bureau ahead of the 2025 Nevada Legislative Session.
