Board Agenda item 5.08 – Three-year Pilot Program – Teacher Recruitment and Retention
The Board of School Trustees voted unanimously to approve a Memorandum of Agreement between the Clark County Education Association and the Clark County School District involving teachers who work eight middle schools identified by the state as needing improvement. These schools also typically have multiple vacancies each year. From Aug. 2019 through June 2022, teachers at the schools could be eligible to receive $10,000 in recruitment and retention supplemental pay. They could also be eligible for an additional performance supplement of $5,000, based on student outcomes.
Additional details will be worked out between the district and the teachers association. The supplemental pay will not impact the district’s general fund and will be funded through federal grant money.
