Agenda Item 3.01 – Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan Update: Chronic Absenteeism

The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees accepted a report on the Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan, which focused on chronic absenteeism. The presentation highlighted achievements, including more than 20,000 home visits so far during the 2024–2025 school year and coordinating with community partners and municipalities to expand attendance recognition programs to provide incentives to students. Through the District’s efforts, the chronic absenteeism rate has decreased by three percentage points since the same time last year and has decreased across all student groups.

Agenda Item 4.03 – American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds (ARP ESSER III) Final Use of Funds Report

Trustees received a presentation on the District’s American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds (ARP ESSER III) Final Use of Funds Report. The report details the District’s use of more than $777 million in COVID-19 pandemic recovery funds to improve student success. The 58-page report highlights improvements as a result of the unprecedented funding including, higher reading scores for Grades 3–5, improved math test scores for grades 3–8, gains in student attendance, better teacher retention rates and investments in professional development for our educators.

100 percent of the funds were obligated on time.
