CCSD Board of School Trustees meeting recap, Aug. 25, 2022

Agenda Item 4.01 – Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan Update — Chronic Absenteeism

The Clark County (CCSD) School District Board of School Trustees received a presentation about Focus:2024 indicators and results pertaining to chronic absenteeism.

A student is considered chronically absent if they are absent for ten percent or more of their enrolled days during the school year. In an effort to reduce the chronic absenteeism rate, CCSD is working to renew the Truancy Prevention Outreach Program (TPOP) which offers individualized support for students identified as at-risk. Additionally, the District is offering professional learning on differentiated attendance reporting.
