Agenda Item 2.21 – New Grant Application: Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, Nevada Department of Education, Title IV, Part A, United States Department of Education

The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees approved a grant application for the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act grant to provide students with safer and healthier learning environments.

The $1.7 million federal grant will help the Clark County School District Police Department (CCSDPD) implement the newly formed Middle School Division. The officers would be focused on providing safety and security at District middle schools. The Middle School Division will implement a curriculum focusing on potential dangers and on positive interactions with law enforcement with the goal of building mutual respect between officers and students.
