LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 2.15 – Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan Update on Teacher Recruitment and Critical Labor Shortage
The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved a report on teacher recruitment and the utilization of the critical labor shortage designation. The presentation is part of the Board’s monitoring of progress toward goals outlined in CCSD’s five-year strategic plan.
The report highlighted progress in the percentage of classrooms filled with licensed educators, increased compensation for educators, and a 94% retention rate.

Agenda Items 3.01-3.02 – Superintendent Search
The Board received updates on a draft Leadership Profile incorporating elements from the superintendent search survey and focus group results as well as the timeline for the superintendent search.
The presentation includes leadership profile attributes desired by the community.
Trustees voted unanimously to delay the superintendent search until January 2025 once new Trustee Members take the oath of office.

Agenda Item 3.03 – Trustee Vacancy Process
Trustees discussed the process and timeline for the appointment to fill the current vacancy on the Board, which represents District B. The position will be advertised to the public on Sunday, September 29, 2024, and remain open until Friday, October 18, 2024.
