Agenda Item 4.02 – Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan Update on Perceptions of Student Safety

The Board received an update on perceptions of student safety on District campuses. The presentation highlighted an overall increase in perceptions of student safety district-wide compared to the 2023–2024 school year. Grades 6–8 saw a nearly 2 percentage-point increase in perceptions of student safety, and Grades 9–12 saw a 3 percentage-point improvement compared to last school year.

CCSD prioritizes the safety and wellness of all students. The District continues the implementation of security enhancements that began on District campuses before the 2022–2023 school year. Through these enhancement efforts, CCSD focuses on creating a controlled single point of entry on campuses, bolstering perimeter fencing, and modernizing security camera systems.
