LAS VEGASAgenda Item 3.01 – Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan Update – Highly Effective Staff

The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees received a presentation regarding professional learning opportunities for staff. There has been an expansion in the districtwide pipeline for employee growth and advancement. During 2022-2023, 89 percent of teachers, 69 percent of learning strategists, and 98 percent of school-based administrators participated in professional learning. On-going collaboration with teachers, teacher leaders, learning strategists, and school-based administrators will occur to enhance professional learning opportunities.

Agenda Item 3.02 – Focus: 2024 Strategic Plan Update – Graduation Rates  

The Board received an update on the Focus 2024: Strategic Plan regarding graduation rates. The District has had an increased number of Advanced and College and Career Readiness diplomas earned by graduating students. 

5,960 CCSD students graduated with a College and Career Readiness Diploma in 2023, up from 4,194 graduates with the same diploma in the Class of 2019. 

By effectively implementing the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) through promoting student’s academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and behavioral development, graduation rates will likely continue trending positively.

Agenda Item 2.06 – Employment Agreement – Assistant Superintendent – Facilities 

The Board approved the employment of an Assistant Superintendent of Facilities, Thomas A. Nizetick.
