CCSD alum creates service to shop for seniors

Jayde Powell, an Advanced Technologies Academy graduate who is a pre-med student at the University of Nevada, Reno, is rallying students across Nevada to help seniors get groceries.

Powell has created a network of volunteers called “Shopping Angels,” which gets groceries and supplies to senior citizens who might be afraid to venture out during the coronavirus pandemic.

Indeed, the can-do spirit of Powell has captured the attention of national media.
