CCSD Agreement with ESEA allows support professionals to donate sick leave

The Clark County School District (CCSD) and the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA) signed a Memorandum of Agreement that will allow Support Professionals the ability to donate sick leave to other Support Professionals in the District.

CCSD is working in collaboration with all of our bargaining units to ensure the safety and well-being of every employee.

“We have to work together in these uncertain times to address as many concerns for employees and students as possible,” CCSD Board of School Trustees President Lola Brooks said. “We are proud to work with ESEA on the agreement to improve the work environment for employees.”

“This agreement allows the Support Professionals who interact with students every day to donate sick leave to others in need to ensure our employees and students remain healthy,” CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. Jara said. “This is an important adjustment to the bargaining agreement to take care of our valued employees in an unprecedented situation.”

“These are unique and difficult times for our Education Support Professionals. The Education Support Employees Association is the heart of our students’ learning, and this is an important agreement to ensure that our ESP’s remain healthy for our students and their families as well,” ESEA Vice President Jan Giles said.

The process for leave donations is being finalized and will be shared with Support Professionals in the next few days.
