LAS VEGAS – Northeast Career and Technical Academy (NECTA) Principal Ryan Cordia has been named the 2025 Nevada State Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
Cordia has served as Principal of NECTA since the school opened in 2023 and previously worked as Principal of Southeast Career and Technical Academy. He has over 20 years of experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator across three states. His passion is deeply rooted in building educational systems that open access to high-skill work for all students.
“I’m elated for Ryan to receive this recognition as he has a long history of bringing innovation and excellence to the schools he leads,” said Clark County School District Superintendent Jhone Ebert. “I’ve personally seen the hard work he has put into helping students succeed, including through participation in statewide initiatives. Ryan is truly deserving of this award.”
NASSP honors one middle school or high school principal from each state annually.
Cordia is now a finalist for the NAASP’s National Principal of the Year, which will be announced at the State Principals of the Year event in July.
