Cafe Rio Mexican Grill supports CCSD schools, bringing needed resources to students

The Clark County School District is grateful for the generosity of Cafe Rio Mexican Grill, which is one of CCSD’s amazing new partners.

Earlier this school year, Café Rio provided $10 gift certificates/awards for teachers of the month and students of the week. These certificates were given to four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school near each of their 13 local restaurants.

Cafe Rio, working with Clark County School District’s School-Community Partnership Program, provided the certificates as part of the company’s commitment to public education in support of academic achievement, attendance, and teacher recognition.

The restaurants also offer fundraising events for schools and provide discounted catering for educational programs.

On April 17, a ribbon-cutting for the 14th local Cafe Rio was held at Town Square.  At that event, National Community Partnerships Manager Nicole Aguilar presented the CCSD School-Community Partnership Program with a $2,500 check to support student achievement at our Focus Schools.

The Focus School Project matches Clark County schools with business, organizations, agencies and individuals to bring needed resources to students. The participants in the Focus School Project work with school administration to build programs aligned with the goals of CCSD’s strategic plan, Focus: 2024, to increase academic achievement and decrease chronic absenteeism.

“Cafe Rio is proud to be a Clark County School District partner. We know first-hand that amazing results come from passion and hard work,” said Aguilar. “We live this in our restaurants and we are thrilled to celebrate it in your classrooms. The work CCSD is doing is so important for the community. We’re humbled to support it.”

Beverly Mason, Director of the School-Community Partnership Program, said “CCSD appreciates partners such as Cafe Rio because they help us recognize students for excellent attendance and academic achievement that supports the District’s strategic plan.”
