Bob and Sandy Ellis forge a legacy of giving back to community, including to its public schools and children

The extraordinary generosity of Bob and Sandy Ellis is well known, especially for thousands of students, teachers, support professionals and principals who serve in the Clark County School District.

Nevertheless, it was uplifting to see their good works highlighted in a front-page article in the Dec. 22, 2018, edition of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, sharing with all Southern Nevadans the story of the Ellises’ goodwill over decades.

In this latest round of philanthropy by the Ellises, who have an elementary school in Clark County named after them, they made sure that each of 400 children attending Matt Kelly Elementary School received a toy for the holidays this year. This is, as the Review-Journal reported, the 14th year the couple has “played Santa Claus to underprivileged children in Clark County.”

A dozen schools benefited from the Ellises’ gift-giving, which the Review-Journal noted was a donation valued at approximately $250,000.
