The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees selected Jhone Ebert as the next Superintendent of CCSD. The decision was made during the March 13 Board meeting following a nationwide search conducted by Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates.

Ebert, a longtime Clark County resident and former CCSD educator, brings more than 30 years of experience in K-12 education, policy, and administration. She currently serves as Nevada’s Superintendent of Public Instruction, overseeing the academic success of nearly 500,000 students across 17 school districts.

Since her appointment in 2019 and reappointment in 2023, Ebert has led major initiatives to strengthen Nevada’s public education system. She played a key role in overhauling the state’s 54-year-old funding model, ensuring a more equitable distribution of resources through the Pupil-Centered Funding Plan. She also expanded career and technical education (CTE) programs, increasing student access to hands-on learning and college-level coursework. During the COVID-19 pandemic, her leadership ensured that every Nevada student had access to a computer and internet connection for remote learning.

“The Board is grateful to the community, families, and employees who were part of the process in selecting a new superintendent,” CCSD Board of School Trustees President Irene Bustamante Adams said. “We look forward to working with Superintendent Ebert and all our 44,000 employees as we continue focusing on improving student academic opportunities and outcomes together.”
