LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 3.01 – Compliance Monitoring Update The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees accepted the compliance monitoring update related to the corrective action plan requested by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE). CCSD provided the initial corrective action plan to NDE on December 27, 2024. On December 31, 2024, a request was received from the Superintendent of Public Instruction for additional specificity in the plan. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 3.02 – Fiscal Year 2025 Amended Final Budget   The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved the Fiscal Year 2025 Amended Final Budget that will be submitted to the state of Nevada by the January 2025 deadline. The general operating budget includes total expenditures of approximately $3.97 billion, with more than 81 percent of funds utilized for employee salaries and benefits. Las Vegas High School Mariachi Director Stephen Blanco has been selected as a semifinalist for the 2025 Grammy Museum and Recording Academy Music Educator Award. He is one of only 25 music teachers to be selected for the honor nationally. The Clark County School District (CCSD) is proud to offer medical services to all CCSD students at no cost with or without insurance through an agreement with Hazel Health. Families have quick access to licensed health care and can see a doctor online in a matter of minutes through Hazel Health. CCSD students can get virtual medical care or teletherapy on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. Families may now register their child for upcoming school year Online registration for Clark County School District’s (CCSD) 2024-25 school year is now open.  Families new to CCSD may begin their registration process online at register.ccsd.net.  Families with students enrolled at a CCSD school can now complete registration using Campus Parent via Infinite Campus (campus portal.ccsd.net).  Parents/Guardians with an Infinite Campus account will see an announcement through Campus Parent with a link connecting them to the 2024-25 registration page. The Clark County School District (CCSD) encourages students and families to share their summer love of reading with our annual social media campaign, #ReadWithMeCCSD. CCSD recommends that students read for at least 30 minutes a day to continue building their literacy skills through the summer break. Students can choose to read a book, magazine, comic book, newspaper or listen to an audiobook. To participate, parents and students must post photos of their reading adventures using the hashtag #ReadWithMeCCSD. The Clark County School District (CCSD) is proud to highlight multiple speech and debate students from three schools who recently took home awards at the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions. Twelve CCSD students qualified for the national tournament, which was held in Bellevue, Nebraska, and four earned awards. CCSD hidden gem.  Those are just a few phrases used to describe Desert Oasis High School math teacher Jeff Comer in nominations submitted by colleagues for the Teacher Car Giveaway. Comer was selected as the winner and surprised with a brand new Kia Seltos Thursday morning courtesy of Jim Marsh Kia and Silver State Schools Credit Union.
