LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 4.01 – CCSD Graduation Rates The Board accepted a report on improved graduation rates within the District, which highlighted an 86.6 percent graduation rate during the 2024-2025 school year, representing a 5.1 percent increase from the previous year. The presentation credited improved graduation rates to our educators and staff, academic planning with students, enrollment in advanced coursework, improved Tier I curriculum and instruction, and CTE pathways aligned with industry demands. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 4.04 – Public Hearing Intent to Issue General Obligation (Limited Tax) Building Bonds Additionally Secured by Pledged Revenues The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees held a public hearing on a proposed issuance of up to $200 million in general obligation building bonds in order to finance future school construction and maintenance costs. Boulder City High School senior River Schenk was surprised with a new 2025 Volkswagen Jetta 1.5T Sport after winning the “What Does Safe Driving Mean to You?” essay contest. This was part of a campaign by Sam and Ash Injury Law aimed at inspiring young drivers to take road safety seriously and understand the real-life consequences of their actions behind the wheel. The campaign offered several prizes as incentives, including $6,000 in scholarships for local students. Governor Joe Lombardo visited Lewis E. Rowe Elementary School on Thursday for a ceremonial signing of Assembly Bill 6 (AB6). The law, which will take effect on July 1, 2026, increases penalties for violations in school zones across the state, including all schools in the Clark County School District (CCSD). AB6 aims to enhance safety for pedestrians and students, while also granting local authorities greater control over the design of school zones. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 4.01 – Fiscal Year 2026 Amended Final Budget The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved the Fiscal Year 2026 Amended Final Budget. The District’s budget includes $3.9 billion in General and Special Education Fund revenues for the 2025-2026 school year.  Approximately 88 percent of CCSD expenditures go directly to employee salaries and benefits. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 5.02 – 2026-2027 School Start Times and Transportation Scenarios The Board heard a presentation on a survey seeking input from our community on the idea of shifting all school start times 30 minutes later in the day for the 2026-27 school year along with additional potential options for start times that would involve shifts in transportation. The Clark County School District (CCSD) values its employees and everything they do to help our students succeed. We are working diligently to place everyone in a suitable position while also adjusting our budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility. CCSD is exploring all options to identify positions for the affected 97 support professionals and 6 licensed personnel who were unable to be placed through the regular fall surplus process. The Clark County School District (CCSD) will receive $5.8 million over five years from Toyota to help provide access to innovative technology and benefit STEM programs at Red Rock Elementary School, Frank F. Garside Junior High School and Bonanza High School. He was a passionate advocate of freedom, integrity, and education. His career in gaming began as a janitor for Harrah’s Hotel in Reno, Nevada. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 3.11 – Purchasing Awards – College Board Advanced Placement Exam Fees The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved the purchase that covers exam fees for 2026 Advanced Placement (AP) exams for every CCSD student participating in AP courses, or approximately 30,000 students. The District saw a 23.7 percent increase in the number of students scoring a 3 or higher on AP exams year-over-year, leading to college course credit.
