The Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrated the re-opening of Earl B. Lundy Elementary School on Wednesday with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting. Lundy Elementary School opened its doors for the 2025-2026 school year to Mount Charleston students for the first time since August 2023, after damage caused by the remnants of Tropical Storm Hilary led to the school’s closure. The Clark County School District (CCSD) held a special program on Monday to commemorate the groundbreaking of the replacement campus for Cyril Wengert Elementary School. As part of the 2015 Capital Improvement Program, the replacement school is being built on the same site as the existing school that was built in 1971. CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert attended the celebration along with Representative Dina Titus, Nevada Lt. Governor Stavros Anthony and Clark County Commission Chair Tick Segerblom. LAS VEGAS – Students from Barbara and Hank Greenspun Junior High School excelled on the global robotics stage, taking home the Excellence Award at the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship in the middle school VEX IQ Robotics Competition category.  The school’s robotics team, Greenspun Dolphins, received the competition’s highest award for exemplifying overall excellence in the Judged (engineering design) Awards and the Performance (on-field) Award categories. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 2.02 – 2025-2026 Final Budget  The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved the adoption of the final budget for the 2025-2026 school year. State law requires the District to submit a final budget to the Nevada Department of Taxation by June 9, 2025.  As the 2025 Nevada Legislative Session is scheduled to run through June 2, 2025, the District will have up to 30 days to submit possible amendments that incorporate necessary updates due to the budget approved by the Legislature and Governor. The Clark County School District Project-Based Learning (PBL) Showcase offered pilot school principals an opportunity to share their implementation of PBL on their campuses.  More than a dozen CCSD schools are currently piloting PBL as part of the pilot school project. On Thursday, multiple schools, including Judy and John L. Goolsby Elementary School, Clifford J. Lawrence Junior High School, and Cimarron-Memorial High School, participated in presentations of learning at Southeast Career and Technical Academy to showcase the results they’ve seen after utilizing PBL in their classrooms.
