LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 2.29 – Legislative Bill Drafts Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved the two bill draft requests (BDR) for submission ahead of the 2025 Nevada Legislative Session. The BDRs will address: Teacher recruitment, retention and development – seeking dedicated funding to school districts to expand and diversify licensed professional recruitment, retention and development programs. Bullying – seeking to update bullying statutes that the parents/guardians of a perpetrator with substantiated discrimination, cyberbullying, or bullying incidents may request a transfer to a different school and clarify that the statutes are administrative. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 2.01- Superintendent Search Firm Selection The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees selected Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates as the search firm to recommend a slate of qualified candidates for a new superintendent. The firm will negotiate with the CCSD Purchasing Department for a contract with the District to conduct a search for a new superintendent. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 2.02 – 2024-2025 Final Budget The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved the adoption of the final budget for the 2024-2025 school year. State law requires the district to submit a final budget to the Nevada Department of Taxation by early June. CCSD estimates an approximate $3.5 billion in total operating revenues for the 2024-2025 school year. 84% of the general operating fund is allocated to employee salaries and benefits.
