Tristan Winburn, a determined and resilient young man, grew up in a life shaped by poverty and instability. From a young age, he faced numerous challenges, including homelessness and a lack of financial resources. Despite these obstacles, Tristan never gave up on his dreams of education and success. Tristan has worked tirelessly to maintain good grades, applying for scholarships and colleges despite the numerous setbacks. His hard work paid off when he was accepted into the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), a dream he had fought for through years of adversity. It’s School Lunch Hero Day!  Today, we celebrate our school nutrition professionals who keep our students focused and energized for the school day with a nutritious meal.  Did you know that in the 2023-2024 school year, about 42.3 million meals were served? We couldn’t have done that without the help of our School Lunch Heroes!  We are so thankful for all of their hard work. Every May, Better Hearing and Speech Month is celebrated to bring awareness and understanding of communication disorders and the importance of early intervention and treatment.  The CCSD Audiology Services Department performs individual diagnostic hearing evaluations on students using a variety of tests. These tests measure everything from otoscopy, pure tones, speech perception, validation of hearing devices, and much more.
