Tyrell Holloway exemplifies what it means to be a Longhorn and has been named Legacy High School’s 2025 Star Graduate! Tyrell is an all-around student-athlete. He has earned a white letter twice, participating in football, bowling, and track and field. The white letter signifies his dedication, leadership and commitment to his fellow teammates. Wayne N. Tanaka was born in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii in 1948. He received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Utah and his Master of Education Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He began his career in the Clark County School District in 1972 as a teacher at Jim Bridger Junior High School. He was involved in various leadership roles throughout his time with the District. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 3.03 – Critical Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Replacement System The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees received a presentation on the District’s plan to replace heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) components to address aging infrastructure at schools with the most need. The $5.18 million initiative focuses on the top 10 percent of schools with the highest HVAC needs. Alissa Bialas is recognized as West Career and Technical Academy’s Star Graduate for her outstanding academic achievements in the face of adversity. Alissa excelled in a challenging schedule during her senior year. She tragically lost her sister in the first semester, but persevered and maintained her perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA) as a valedictorian candidate. More than 30 Clark County School District (CCSD) employees were honored on Thursday for achieving an incredible feat: serving CCSD for over four decades. The employees were invited to a celebratory lunch at PopStroke Las Vegas, which of course included some mini-golf, and were recognized with an award milestone celebrating their outstanding commitment to education. The Clark County School District (CCSD) Mental Health Support Team will be hosting a free Mental Health Resource Fair that is open to all CCSD families. This event will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 10 a.m. to noon at the CCSD Family Support Center (1720 S. Maryland Pkwy).  Families will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities and take advantage of resources focused on mental health and social-emotional learning. Mission High School is proud to have been the space in which this Star Graduate chose to grow. Eva Loeza has been a student at Mission High School since her freshman year. Initially reluctant and unsure of the referral to Mission High School, she now recognizes that remaining with Mission was one of “the greatest opportunities” she has taken.
