The Clark County School District (CCSD) is offering the community a way to meet the needs of students experiencing homelessness through Purposity.  By highlighting a student’s specific needs outside the classroom, Purposity is working to bring holiday cheer to more than 200 CCSD students. Clark County School District (CCSD) wishes all students, staff and families a Happy Thanksgiving. As a reminder, there will be no school for students Wednesday, November 22 – 24. Additionally, most CCSD schools and offices will be closed Thursday, November 23, for Thanksgiving; and on Friday, November 24, for Family Day. Schools and offices will reopen on Monday, November 27.  The Clark County School District (CCSD) graduation rate for the Class of 2023 increased to 81.5 percent, with 21,675 students earning their diplomas.  According to final data compiled by the Nevada Department of Education, CCSD’s graduation rate was above the statewide rate and increased from 81.3 percent for the Class of 2022. “Student performance improves when systems of instruction align to research-based curriculum and support. The Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrates November as Native American Heritage Month, paying tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of the Native American community. CCSD provides opportunities for quality educational and cultural programs and services to eligible Indigenous American and Alaska Native students through the preservation of their unique cultures, traditions, customs, and heritages through the Indian Education Opportunities Program.  Additional information about the program can be found online here.

The Clark County School District (CCSD) is celebrating American Education Week (AEW), which is from November 13-17. The week highlights the hard work and accomplishments of students and staff. Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrates National Parental Involvement Day, Nov. 16, to recognize the positive impact of family engagement on student achievement. CCSD’s Family Engagement Department provides all CCSD families with valuable resources and learning opportunities. The Family Engagement Department’s events, programs and resources are intended to empower and educate families to support their child’s overall well-being and academic achievement.  Special events, Family Academy workshops, engagement centers, digital learning and resource guides are available to all CCSD families. We would like to recognize the important role that our substitute teachers play in the education of our students. Substitute teachers fill the shoes of our educators and continue giving quality education to our students. Four officers from the Clark County School District Police Department (CCSDPD) are ready to hit the road as part of the CCSDPD Traffic Unit after graduating from Motor School Thursday. Officers Andrew Craft, Jason Martin, Dream Stone and Tony Thalman were among a class of 12 police officers from various local law enforcement agencies who completed the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Motor School. Officers from throughout Southern Nevada taking part in the course learn techniques for enforcing traffic laws as well as defensive and riding skills to keep them safe on the job.
