At 17 years old, Montgomery “Monty” Wayman has already faced many significant obstacles in his young life. Monty was raised in a single-parent home by his loving father. At 10 years old, Monty was diagnosed with kidney cancer, which required painful treatments, surgery, and attending school via Homebound Services. By middle school, Monty was back to in-person learning, but the COVID-19 pandemic forced him to start his freshman year of high school online during which time he required another surgery due to complications of cancer treatment. LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 2.12-2.18 – Critical Labor Shortage Areas The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees voted to designate certain positions as critical labor shortage areas including: bus drivers, special education bus drivers and bus driver trainees elementary and secondary licensed personnel positions secondary mathematics, science and English licensed personnel positions substitute teachers secondary career and technical education positions  special education positions The District has utilized this designation in the past to help attract candidates for hard-to-fill positions. Kyndell Anderson has shown tremendous growth since his freshman year. Initially struggling academically, over the past two years he has worked diligently to overcome barriers and increase his GPA. His passion for all things music is both impressive and engaging. His interest in music began at a young age, and Kyndell plays three different instruments (keyboard, drums and guitar); all self-taught.
