The Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrates National School Psychology Week from November 11-15, recognizing the critical work school psychologists do to help students thrive. This year’s theme, “Spark Discovery,” recognizes the work that school psychologists do to help their communities seek out new ideas, effect change, and expand horizons for children and youth.
No school for students today, but educators are still in the classroom for professional development. Approximately 700 CCSD counselors from across the district met at the South Point Hotel to discuss ideas and collaborate as they work to support our students. Additionally, Physical Education teachers across the District met at Rancho High School to develop lessons on hockey, lacrosse and functional fitness. The Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrates November as Native American Heritage Month, paying tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of the Native American community. CCSD provides opportunities for quality educational and cultural programs and services to eligible Indigenous American and Alaska Native students through the preservation of their unique cultures, traditions, customs, and heritages through the Indian Education Opportunities Program. The Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrated the ribbon-cutting for a first-of-its-kind school at St. Jude’s Ranch for Children. The school will assist in serving students who are residents of the recovery program for victims of sex trafficking. The CCSD school is part of The Healing Center and was created in partnership with St. Jude’s Ranch for Children.

The Clark County School District (CCSD) will participate in National School Bus Safety Week from October 21-25, 2024. This year’s theme is “Driving Safely into the Future.” Students are reminded they should stay out of the danger zone, a 10-foot perimeter around the bus where the drivers cannot see. Students should also wait off the street for the bus to come to a complete stop before loading.
