Cox Back to School Fairs The Cox Back to School Fair is the longest-running annual school readiness event in southern Nevada. This event will be held multiple times throughout July and August at various locations. There will be more than 30 community agencies and organizations as well as CCSD representatives in attendance to answer questions ranging from registration, learning opportunities, and enrollment. The Back to School fairs held at Boulevard Mall and Meadows Mall will also be hosting on-site immunizations. This event is open and free to the public. Families may now register students for kindergarten if they turn 5 years old by August 1 for the 2023-24 school year LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) seeks to inform parents regarding recent updates to Nevada law regarding kindergarten enrollment age requirements. The new age requirements passed by the Nevada Legislature means that students must be 5 years old by August 1, 2023, to register for kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year. Clark County School District (CCSD) Unify Department and Touro University Nevada welcome the community to the “Help for All,” medical fair ahead of the 2023-2024 school year. Families will be able to receive several free on-site services and wellness resources, regardless of immigration status. These services include adult health, vision and dental screenings, children health screenings, general and COVID-19 vaccinations and mammogram testing. Families will also have access to family planning, mental health resources, substance counseling and breast health education. Green Valley High School is proud to announce its 2023 STAR Graduate, Lex de Asis. Though born with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita, an orthopedic impairment resulting in their having almost no movement in their arms and legs, Lex views the obstacles of living with their disability as opportunities for persistence and ingenuity. Lex has always challenged themself to learn in spite of what their IEP says, moving beyond limitations to create new capabilities. In childhood, Lex taught themself to write and draw by holding a pen between their teeth. In middle school, Lex taught themself to type using a homemade stylus.…
Wyatt has attended Indian Springs Schools since he was in pre-K. He has overcome many personal obstacles and has matured into a fine young man. Wyatt always has a positive and respectful attitude and is willing to lend a helping hand. He has worked with the Safe Key program, volunteered with youth outreach in the community, and is helpful with the younger children on campus.
