The CCSD Family Engagement Unit will be hosting a Family Academy workshop on Saturday, September 9 from 8 am to 11:30 am at Rancho High School.  This free event will give families the opportunity to gain strategies to support learning at home and will also receive guidance for navigating the school system. Participants have the option to attend either an adults-only session or sessions for families that are learning together. CCSD used #ESSERIII funding to purchase new curriculum through Amplify Education to help enhance students’ learning experience. Watch the video here. Through #ESSERIII funding, CCSD purchased new curriculum for English language arts (ELA) educators to help engage students in literacy. Teachers at Hannah Marie Brown Elementary School have been using this new curriculum since the school’s opening in 2021, and have found success in their classroom with helping to teach their students to read. Board to review tentative contract at board meeting this week LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) has reached a tentative agreement with the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA) and Teamsters Local 14. The contract will be reviewed by the Board of School Trustees at the August 4 special board meeting. Changes balance educator workflow with student academic success  LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) is modifying grading guidelines for students after receiving feedback from teachers during the 2022-23 school year.  Starting with the 2023-24 school year, we are revising the application of the equitable grading scale at secondary schools, removing it from the assignment level, and instead applying the scale at the quarter grades. LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) has reached a tentative agreement with the Clark County Association of School Administrators and Professional-Technical Employees (CCASAPE). Approximately 1,100 educators took part in the CCSD New Teacher Kickoff event in preparation for the 2023-2024 school year that begins Monday, Aug. 7. During the event, teachers received information on CCSD’s New Teacher Pathway, which provides two years of induction, mentoring and professional growth opportunities for beginning and experienced teachers new to the District. 

CCEA’s refusal impacts students and staff LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) is making adjustments to school start and end times at approximately 45 schools because CCEA, which serves as the bargaining unit for licensed educators, has refused to consider contract waivers (An avenue for schools to waive specific provisions of the negotiated agreement) for over six months without additional, unreasonable concessions by the District in the upcoming 2023–2025 Negotiated Agreement. Online registration for Clark County School District (CCSD) students for the 2023-24 school year is now open. Parents/guardians should note that the 2023-24 school year begins Aug. 7, 2023. Families new to CCSD may begin their registration process online via register.ccsd.net. Families with currently enrolled students can complete registration using Campus Parent via Infinite Campus (campusportal.ccsd.net).
