LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 3.02 – Public Hearing On and Possible Approval of the New Negotiated Agreement of 2023–2025 between the Clark County School District and the Police Officers Association of the Clark County School District. The CCSD Transportation Department will host a job fair for prospective bus drivers on Saturday, April 6 from 8 a.m. to noon. The job fair will be held at the Arville Bus Yard, 4499 Arville St. Las Vegas, NV 89103. Transportation officials will be on-site to provide additional information and answer questions. CCSD offers paid training and also assists applicants in obtaining the proper license. The Clark County School District (CCSD) Family Engagement Department is hosting the Family Academy on Saturday, February 24th. This event will run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ed W. Clark High School, 4291 Penwood Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89102.  Families can participate in various hands-on and engaging workshops to gain resources and tools to support the academic life of our students. “Girls, you know you better watch out,” for the Foothill High School dance team who won a national dance competition for their performance set to music by Lauryn Hill. On February 4th, the Varsity Dance Team made program history by taking first place in the Medium Varsity Hip Hop Division at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) National Dance Team Competition. The team has taken part in the competition since 2009 and has shown promise, receiving several medals and even placing in the Top 3 as a relatively new team. 160 students from Beatty Elementary School had the opportunity to participate in the NFL PLAY 60 Kids Day yesterday. In an effort to tackle childhood obesity and inactivity, the NFL PLAY 60 encourages students to be up and active for at least 60 minutes every day. Students who participated yesterday also interacted with elements of the Super Bowl Experience including football-themed games and an NFL PLAY 60 kids zone.

Can you imagine a large city, such as Las Vegas, completely running on clean and renewable energy? A group of students from Hyde Park Middle School have stepped up to the challenge. The model created by Hyde Park students shows what a city would look like being 100 percent clean and sustainable. For their efforts, the students were chosen as the regional winners of the DiscoverE Engineering Future City Competition. Campaign aimed at reducing chronic absenteeism  LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) launched the Every Day Matters campaign to emphasize the importance of daily attendance in academic achievement and future success. “Chronic absenteeism is a life-changing choice that impacts the students in the highest need of educational resources and academic support,” said CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus F. The Clark County School District Police Department (CCSDPD) has welcomed a new furry friend to their team.  CCSDPD Social Worker Monique Abarca and Eddie are embarking on a new journey to make students and staff feel more at ease during stressful situations.  Although Eddie is not the first canine to work alongside District officers, he is the first psychiatric support animal to be available to all regions of CCSD. He is a trained PTSD service animal who provides physical cues when he senses stress levels are high and can comfort the person in need. Alongside Abarca, he will be there…

Bonner Elementary School celebrated the 100th day of school in style! Kindergarten students walked the runway and showcased clothing made with one hundred items! Students got creative decorating their clothing with butterflies, fuzzballs and even Pokemon cards. Apart from the runway show, first graders took a glimpse into their futures and dressed up as 100-year-olds.
