Happy Holidays! CCSD wishes our staff, students, and families a safe and fun holiday season. There will be no school for students from December 23, 2024, through January 3, 2025, for Winter Break. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025.

From assisting students facing housing insecurity to ensuring students have the necessary supplies to be successful and making the performing arts accessible to all. The Clark County School District (CCSD) Family Engagement Department invites families to attend Family Academy for free workshops and resources to support the success of your child. The Family Academy will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Desert Pines High School located at 3800 Harris Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119. The Clark County School District (CCSD) will recognize staff and students for their hard work through the 12 Days of Recognition. The events coordinated by the CCSD Engagement Unit will be held from December 5 to December 20, 2024. During the 12 Days of Recognition, various community partners will honor individuals and departments who have gone above and beyond in supporting CCSD and southern Nevada. 1st Day  Approximately 50 KB Homes volunteers assisted the Engagement Unit with prepping for school supply drives, book sorting for the CCSD Book Bus and gift wrapping for the Indian Education Opportunities Program and the…

The K.O. Knudson Academy of the Arts is celebrating a monumental achievement: Mariachi Los Pumas, an award-winning Mariachi group, has been crowned the Middle School Mariachi Group National Champion at the 30th Annual Mariachi Extravaganza in San Antonio, Texas.   The Mariachi Extravaganza, recognized as the premier Mariachi festival in the United States, brings together the finest young Mariachi musicians in the country. Every year, CCSD celebrates Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) which inspires students to learn computer science, advocate for equity and celebrate the contributions of students, teachers and partners to the field. This year’s theme is “Looking Back, Leaping Forward,” which invites students of all ages to dive into computer science.  During CSEdWeek, schools will be participating in the “Hour of Code” which is an introduction to computer science through fun activities.

Students at Advanced Technologies Academy earned the top prize in the Intuit Hour of Finance Challenge. The school was awarded a $100,000 prize for its efforts in the large school division.  The Hour of Finance Challenge is designed to introduce students to personal financial concepts in one hour or less by completing five activities including interactive Intuit for Education curriculum, online gameplay with Intuit Prosperity Quest, and more. The Clark County School District (CCSD) is partnering with Purposity to support students experiencing homelessness. Purposity is a non-profit connecting users with one-to-one needs in the community through an online platform.  Community members can directly support CCSD students experiencing homelessness by downloading the Purposity app. CCSD’s Title I Homeless Outreach Program for Education (HOPE) launched a profile that provides community members regular updates on ways they can support students through simple donations from their smartphones. The app shows users exactly what will be purchased if they choose to donate and tracks each donor’s contribution as they donate! CCSD currently serves…
