The first day of school is an exciting time for Clark County School District (CCSD) students and staff. It is an exhilarating time for kindergarteners joining the District.  Administrators at Kermit R. Booker, Sr. Elementary School found a fun way to build on that excitement for their young students. Principal Cullen Skyles and Assistant Principal Frances Castillo made surprise home visits to welcome around 40 new kindergarteners to the Booker Elementary School family as well as drop off some Bobcats swag. LAS VEGAS – The Clark County School District (CCSD) received commendations for community input and compliance with the American Rescue Plan (ARP) and Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER) spending.  A Desktop Review Monitoring process conducted by the Nevada Department of Education (NDE) found that CCSD met all requirements and found no instances of noncompliance. The Clark County School District (CCSD) prioritizes the safety and wellness of all students. For the 2024-2025 school year, the District is implementing new initiatives to improve classroom learning and safety. In grades 6–12, students must place personal electronic devices in non-locking, signal-blocking pouches during classroom instruction. This initiative is intended to reduce distractions and improve student learning and achievement. Mariachi Los Gavilanes de Monaco Middle School experienced a once-in-a-lifetime moment as the music group took center stage at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City. The ensemble, comprising 16 talented students, was the only middle school group invited to perform alongside three high school ensembles from Texas, all distinguished national award winners in the realm of mariachi music. The event, titled ¡Viva El Mariachi! ¡Homenaje a la Música Mexicana!, was held in June and celebrated the rich cultural heritage of mariachi music. The Cox Back to School Fair is the longest-running annual school readiness event in Southern Nevada. This event will be held multiple times throughout July and August at various locations. There will be more than 30 community agencies and organizations as well as CCSD representatives in attendance to answer questions ranging from registration, learning opportunities, and enrollment.  The Back to School fairs held at Boulevard Mall and Meadows Mall will also be hosting on-site immunizations. The Class of 2024 continues to make the Clark County School District proud! They earned approximately $292,054,914.74 in scholarships. We wish continued success to the Class of 2024 as they pursue additional academic goals and future endeavors.

Happy 4th of July! CCSD offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, in observance of Independence Day. Offices will reopen on Friday, July 5, 2024.

LAS VEGAS – Agenda Item 2.08 – Memorandum of Agreement between The New Teacher Project Inc. and the Clark County School District The Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of School Trustees approved a Memorandum of Agreement with The New Teacher Project Inc.
