Applications being accepted for Nevada Teacher of the Year

The Nevada Department of Education is accepting applications for the 2021 Nevada Teacher of the Year. The mission of the Nevada Teacher of the Year program is to celebrate excellence and strengthen the teaching force by recognizing exceptional teachers.

“We are proud that the Nevada Teacher of the Year program has honored exceptional educators for their dedication, service, and accomplishments both in and out of the classroom. I encourage everyone to nominate an educator they admire for this statewide recognition and exciting professional learning opportunity,” said Jhone Ebert, Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Sponsored by the Council of Chief State School Officers, the Teacher of the Year serves as an ambassador for Nevada teachers, participates in professional development opportunities and plays an active role in education policy discussions at the district, state and national levels.

If you would like to nominate an educator, fill out the nomination form. If you are an educator who would like to apply, complete the application form. The deadline for all materials is 5 p.m. on March 27, 2020.
