At Bonanza High School, learning continues well after the final bell rings. After-school activities like robotics, student council, and sports provide students with opportunities to explore new interests, make lifelong friends, and even shape their futures. During our recent visit to Bonanza HS, which coincided with Homecoming Week, we had the chance to dive into the world of extracurriculars and see firsthand the impact these programs have on students.
One of the highlights was the Robotics Club, where students gain hands-on experience in engineering and programming. As they prepare for their first competition on October 30th, the excitement in the air is palpable. Robotics isn’t just about building machines—it’s about building skills for the future.
Bonanza’s after-school clubs offer more than just fun. For many students, like those in Key Club and student council, these programs provide valuable experiences, such as scholarship opportunities and community involvement.
These activities give students a sense of belonging, help them stay engaged with school, and encourage good citizenship. Whether it’s preparing for a robotics competition, joining charity work with Key Club, or building leadership skills through student council, Bonanza High’s extracurriculars play a crucial role in students’ academic and personal lives.
Bonanza HS’s after-school activities emphasize the significance of crafting a well-rounded student experience that promotes both personal and academic development. As Principal Brian Wiseman aptly stated, these activities “give kids a reason to want to come to school and do well.”
