Clark County School District (CCSD) Trustees and Superintendent Jhone Ebert were recognized at the Cognia IMPACT Conference on Monday as one of the largest districts in the nation to earn accreditation systemwide.
This accreditation certifies that the entire District meets rigorous, research-based standards of educational excellence. It ensures that every component of the district, ranging from the central administrative office to early childhood education classrooms, is aligned in its efforts to improve student outcomes.
“This recognition speaks to CCSD’s work as the Destination District,” CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert said. “The District is proud to offer families educational opportunities at every campus, regardless of where they live.”
Cognia nationally recognizes schools and districts that meet rigorous standards focused on engaging learning environments, equitable resource allocation that meets the needs of the learners, and effective leadership. Earning accreditation from the Cognia Global Commission means that all schools and early learning centers within CCSD are accredited, and CCSD is recognized nationwide as a school district that meets Cognia Performance Standards and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement.
“Educating 280,000 students takes a team of dedicated professionals, and this accreditation shows educators across the country that CCSD provides our staff with the tools and resources they need to support students,” Superintendent Ebert said. “This designation shows families, employees, and business leaders that CCSD is a Destination District for Pre-K–Grade 12 education on the national level.”
CCSD utilized a team approach throughout the accreditation process. During the 2024–2025 school year, the System Accreditation Steering Committee dedicated time to visiting 140 classrooms, analyzing student performance data, CCSD processes, as well as stakeholder feedback. Findings were utilized for a comprehensive self-assessment centered on Cognia’s rigorous 31 Performance Standards for high-quality teaching and learning, as well as overall organizational effectiveness.
