The Clark County School District (CCSD) celebrated the re-opening of Earl B. Lundy Elementary School on Wednesday with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

Lundy Elementary School opened its doors for the 2025-2026 school year to Mount Charleston students for the first time since August 2023, after damage caused by the remnants of Tropical Storm Hilary led to the school’s closure.

Board of School Trustees Vice President Brenda Zamora, Trustees Linda Cavazos, Lydia Dominguez, Ramona Esparza-Stoffregan and Lisa Satory as well as CCSD Superintendent Jhone Ebert, Deputy Superintendent of Business Operations Felicia Gonzales and Deputy Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Dr. Jesse Welsh were all on hand to celebrate the joyous occasion as well as tour the campus.

Lundy Elementary School features structural repairs, security and technology upgrades, as well as new site drainage and septic system.

The Board voted in February to allocate $7.8 million to repair and make improvements to the school.
